![]() ![]() Well, in February, Springfield unveiled the new Hellcat RDP. The Springfield Hellcat is one of the most popular concealed carry pistols on the market. Announced May 6, the FN EVOLYS is a new lightweight machine gun platform chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO and 7.62x51mm NATO. Not so much for civilians, the EVOLYS is the latest from FN Herstal. The new pistol has a bit of an old-school feel to it with custom Hogue walnut grips and a curved trigger. One of the latest releases is a bit of a throwback: The SIG P320 AXG Classic. SIG seemingly releases something new every month. 44 Magnum Anaconda, available with either a 6- or 8-inch barrel. In March, Colt added yet another snake reboot to the list with the announcement of the new. Over the last few years Colt rebooted a bunch of its snake-themed revolvers. With receiver sets, complete uppers, barrels, bolt assemblies, and more, the EPC-9 is a “build your own” pistol caliber carbine set. The Aero Precision EPC-9 isn’t so much a gun as it is a buffet. Another case of KelTec doing KelTec things. ![]() It loads by lifting the barrel up and sliding the magazine in. It’s a 50-round 5.7x28mm pistol that uses an FN P90 magazine. Possibly the “coolest” announcement of 2021, KelTec’s P50 is a doozy. Completely optics-ready, the line features both compact and full-size models. In February, Walther released an entirely new line of handguns called the PDP. Walther is one of the best pistol makers on the market. Officially titled the FDP-9, Magpul announced the gun on Jan. Rumored for more than a decade, Magpul teamed up with ZEV Technologies to create a folding pistol. Unveiled on New Year’s Day, the SAR 109T is a “a comparatively small, lightweight and modular a semi-auto version of the Sarsilmaz TE 54 carbine that was originally manufactured for police and civilian sales.” Magpul/ZEV FDP-9 Folding Pistol In the meantime, take a look at the new guns announced so far in 2021. There’s actually a ton of new releases on the horizon, including a first from two different manufacturers and some pretty innovative stuff from a couple others. And while we can’t disclose any information on what’s coming for the remainder of 2021, gun owners should be excited. What’s the point of releasing new guns if you can’t keep your current inventory in stock? Well, now we’re in 2021 and manufacturers have finally started announcing new guns again. Amid a global pandemic and country-wide rioting, manufacturers couldn’t keep up with orders fast enough. While that sucked, it also makes perfect sense. There was also a serious lack of new gun releases. It was a garbage year filled with COVID and ammo shortages and blah, blah, blah. As much as we’d love to forget, we all remember 2020. ![]()
